Director, MA, LPC, LMFT, RPT, EMDR Trained
Elya Whitten serves as Executive Director of Ministry Counseling. She holds a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, with minors in management and sociology, from Hardin-Simmons University, along with a master's degree in family psychology from the same institution.
Elya's approach is integrative, grounded in family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and client-centered theories, adapted to each client's individual goals and needs. She received much of her early clinical training at an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment center and is honored to walk alongside individuals in recovery. She has also pursued extensive training in play therapy, maintaining her credential as a Registered Play Therapist, as well as additional training in marriage counseling and EMDR.
Elya works with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. She believes all people are capable of growth and change, and is humbled to walk alongside clients as they navigate their unique challenges toward healing, renewed strength, and joy.
